Architectural FAQs

Do I need an architectural plan?

Yes. If you intend to extend, renovate or build any property it is a legal requirement as per the National Building Regulations and Buildings Standards Act 103 to acquire planning permission before building work commences.

Your local authority will not approve your building project unless plans have been submitted beforehand by a professional registered with the SACAP

When do I need to contact you?

The earlier the better. We not only help with architectural drawings and submission but can advise and assist you with your entire project, from inception to completion.

Is it expensive to use an Architechtural Professional?

Although architectural professionals charge a professional fee for services we can save you money on your building project.

By drawing on our experience we can advise you on building costs and materials, recommending trades people as well as identifying potential mistakes which can be very expensive to fix.

How long will my project take?

This of course depends on the project size and how quick decisions are made.

However, once we have started working with you on a project it is our focus to ensure that we deliver on our promises well within your project needs.

Testimonials

{I contracted Marc as my preferred architectural professional to design my B&B establishment in Port Elizabeth. At the time of our fist meeting, I described the general outline requirements emphasizing the high degree of quality I required. The project was his full responsibility concerning the design. It included technical drawings, presentations and meetings with the professional team and liaising with the local authority. He was able to design an impressive concept, coordinate between various disciplines and create a very successful result. Having been abroad since the inception of the project presented innumerable challenges however Marc is a take-charge person who presented creative ideas and executed them to perfection. I also found his interest in and commitment to his work noteworthy. He has consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic and dedication to the success of our project. He was focussed, worked well with all parties concerned and is an extremely motivated individual.

I’ve had the great privilege of working alongside Marc on a myriad of projects which go far beyond mundane. Marc has designed and managed many high-end residential and commercial projects, which meet the practical needs of future owners and investors both in private and public sectors. The majority of projects we collaborated on are currently running on site or have been successfully completed, thanks to his unique skill set and years of professional experience.

I used Beta SAT Design for a lower cost redraw and alteration project, but felt I was getting the same service as any other client. Turnaround time was prompt and I enjoyed working with Marc. There was a minor oversight on an outstanding drawing which was rectified really quickly. Thanks Marc, your great service and professionalism is appreciated, I will certainly remain a client.

When my wife and I decided to renovate our main living space to make it bigger and more functional, we were looking for someone that would not only understand our needs and share our vision, but who would be there to manage the project from start to finish. Marc did that and more! Even when title deed restrictions had to be lifted before we could proceed, they went out of their way to assist with the drawing up and filing of the application.

Through the whole process we found that we could count on Marc and the team for sound advice, but also to be accommodating where necessary.

We are really happy with the end result and would recommend the team any time.

I can highly recommend Marc if you are looking for precision and stress-free completion of your architectural process. He managed our entire project as architectural lead and building supervisor-liaison for over a year. The project was completed perfectly with no problems and Marc made the whole process easy with his good communication skills, excellent advisory inputs and good management of all the role players. One hears of all the disasters with building projects and we honestly only had a pleasant experience which I attribute to Marc’s inputs.

I would like to confirm that Marc of Beta SAT Designs has worked on a number of commercial projects for QPlas Automotive, as well as private residential projects for me.

His ability to translate client needs into reality, whilst ensuring practicality as well as style is commendable. He pays a lot of attention to detail and is well versed in municipal legislation. This ensured on all projects that the documentation submitted were approved seamlessly. I would recommend him for commercial as well as complex residential designs and project management.

Marc redesigned my Ginger Pops workshop to create a streamlined, spacious workplace within the small space I had available. He created a layout that looked minimalistic, with great workflow and aesthetic, and it has aged so well! 5 years down the line and I still love everything about it.
He worked very professionally, taking care to assess the space as well as my catering and design needs, and budget before presenting the finished plans.
I would highly recommend Beta S.A.T Designs for any and all Architectural design work for home or business etc.

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for the professional manner in which you have handled business with us. Your architectural knowledge and willingness to educate us have aided us in this process. I have learned many lessons that only an architect would know and that I would not be able to learn from anyone else. I appreciated working with you and probing your brain for those little details that I was unaware of previously. I appreciate your time with us and could not have wished for a finer architect.
